There’s a warrant in place to arrest Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixons on suspicion of menacing in a way that is aggravated. As per Mike Renner of Pro Football Focus.
Chris Renkel of Local 12/WKRC-TV from Cincinnati confirmed the news report in which he said that Mixon is believe to have fired a gun at a woman in the city center of Cincinnati.
Mixon accused of threatening the woman, saying “You should be pop in the face. I should shoot you now. The police can’ get me,” according to the affidavit, which states the incident took place on Jan. 21 as per Cassy Arsenault of Local 12/WKRC-TV.
“The club is aware misdemeanor charges have been raise against Joe Mixons,” the Bengals stated in an announcement addressed to Arsenault. “The club is investigating the situation and will not comment further at this time.”
Mixon hasn’t been transfer to the Hamilton County jail, according to Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Mixon’s agent Peter Schaffer, told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that the charge against the running back would be drop on Friday morning.
The 26-year old was suspendfor the whole 2014 season when he played in Oklahoma’s Oklahoma Sooners. After he was record punching a woman in an eatery serving sandwiches within Norman, Oklahoma.
Mixon admitted to a misdemeanor assault and did not admit of guilt. He was sentenced to an unconstrained sentence of one year as well as 100 hours community service, and must participate in mandatory counseling for cognitive behavior.
“I made a bad decision. Ever since that night I have to live with it. I’ve got to re-live it every day,” Mixon stated in an appearance during an appearance on PFT Live in 2017. “You can never forget something like that. It still haunts me to this day, but it’s what you do from that point on. You can’t take it back. I can replay it in my head a thousand times, and if I could take it back I would, but I can’t.”
The Bengals chose Mixon during the 2nd round of 2017’s NFL draft and he’s been among the top runners within the NFL since then, having three seasons of more than 1,000 yards rushing over the course of six seasons.
In the 2022 season, Mixon ran for 7 touchdowns and 814 yards during 14 games. And also caught 60 passes, gaining 2 scores and 441 yards. He also ran to 163 yards with a scoring touchdown during three playoff matches.
Mixon is currently under contract until the 2023 season. He also has a club option until 2024.
