Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas scored an all-time high of 47 points on Monday night in a game against the Los Angeles Clippers at Barclays Center and joined LeBron James as the most youthful basketball players of NBA history to score back-to back 40-point games.
Thomas 21 had just scored a career-high 44-point comeback victory against the Washington Wizards. Thomas’s new record, however was set in a home loss of 124-116 against the Clippers.
After the game Thomas made a slight remark about James and joked that he’d like to be remember alongside the great late Kobe Bryant.
“I’m glad to have my name mentioned with that guy, even though I’m a Kobe guy. So, if you said Kobe I would’ve been more excited,” Thomas said. ” No, I’m kidding, but it’s fantastic company. Thomas is about to beat the record for scoring all time in just one game.
“So I’m just glad to have my name mentioned with him this young. I hope I can keep it goingand keep having my name with those guys.”
Cam Thomas steps in for Kyrie Irving
Thomas was a player who saw his role diminish during the last few matches before Kyrie Irvinggetting traded to the Dallas Mavericks.
He’s now prove that he’s a natural goalie who can step up to the occasion and make his name next to the greatest players.
James 38, is just 36 points to breaking the record for all time NBA scoring record, set by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
