Facebook’s Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses are just an overpriced influencial. Sure, Ray-Ban makes stylish eyeglasses, but this one is an overpriced “accessory” that will really do nothing to improve your life. I’ve wasted enough money on these things.
I’m sure Ray-Ban knows they’re selling a fad product that most people aren’t going to buy. In fact, the ads promise that you’ll look “like a celebrity” in no time. That might be true, but people have been wearing glasses for years and celebrities never seem to wear them. It seems like they’ve spent millions on this ad.
What’s more, Ray-Ban is one of those brands that makes a product that seems to be all hype, but actually doesn’t do anything. It’s like Nike running out of new shoes. They know people love their products, so they add new technology, but it still doesn’t work. Facebook’s smart glasses are just the same. They claim to help you “see the world through your eyes”, but only makes you look up and down.
For instance, if you look at the “new and improved” Facebook smartglasses on their site, you’ll see five different settings. You can make your eyes red or green, whichever way you choose. If you lean your head forward, the glasses will also curve backwards. There are even some people who will adjust their lenses to help correct eye alignment.
But is it any better than just wearing regular glasses? The answer is no. No pair of glasses will change the way you perceive the world around you. And you know why that is – because glasses are not like what your eyes see, you cannot train your eyes to see things other than the one before them.
I mean, how does a company like Facebook get around that? That’s an easy one. They simply change the part of the lens that you’re using to get a different effect. So now, instead of seeing red, green or whatever, you’ll be seeing blues, and so on. This doesn’t solve many problems, but it does change the optics around.
Ray-Ban has taken this one step further. Currently, their glasses come in four primary colors. You can choose the lens color that you like best, and you’re sure to be happier with it than with your current pair. People tend to like different things, and if you’re a person who likes bright colors, then this product will work well for you.
There are obviously a lot of ways that you could buy Facebook’s Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses for yourself. However, the way that I see it, you’re better off buying one for yourself, and getting a few for friends and family to try. Then, see what they think! It seems that people love these things, and if they were to try them out, I’m sure that they’d love them too. As long as you keep the lenses clean, you won’t have any problems at all.
Another benefit that you can get from these things is that they look really good. I don’t know why Facebook decided not to make these smart glasses official. They have been around for quite some time, and they have always looked great. If you want to make a statement, look great, and feel like everyone is looking at your eyes, then these are definitely the glasses for you.
Now, as far as how they actually work, there isn’t too much to say. You simply turn them on, and you have perfect vision. I’ve used mine a few times, and I can honestly say that the glasses were the most comfortable that I have ever worn. I also really like the way that they look. I don’t see anything that looks worse than a traditional frame on a smart phone, so I definitely prefer these over the regular ones.
However, I do think that there are a couple of downfalls. The first thing is that they can be a bit clumsy when it comes to picking up objects. They aren’t always that strong, so sometimes you have to press a little harder to pick up something. I also find that they sometimes get sticky when they are wet. That might not sound like a big deal, but if you are walking outside and come across dry leaves or dry grass, then you might find them a little bit sticky.
That being said, these are definitely the best option for people who are looking for something sleek and stylish, without compromising comfort. If you are a person who likes having everything in sight and doesn’t like turning your head every which way, then these are definitely for you. I definitely recommend these over regular glasses for people who have issues with their eyesight, because these glasses will help you see things clearly. If you are someone who likes to be stylish, and you are used to turning your head to look at something, then you might want to go with regular glasses.
