Why do we feel so anxious after accomplishing a big goal? We all know that it took a lot of hard work to reach our goals, time, and money spent on putting together an effective strategy. Yet some of us still feel the pressure or the butterflies in our stomach and want a sense of accomplishment. Here are a few reasons why this is the case.
The key reason behind why people feel so pressured is that they have set their eyes on a goal they really wanted to achieve. They may have put in a lot of time and money towards building up a very detailed and targeted plan. Now the dream is out there and it’s out there looking for them. What happens when they accomplish their first big goal? Well, they feel energized, accomplished, and happy!
The second reason why we feel so anxious after a big achievement is that we are not allowing ourselves to experience the sense of accomplishment as we should. We have created a pattern in our mind that says, “I am just reaching here, not very big yet.” This is actually creating the right situation for failure. We must break this pattern by giving ourselves permission to experience the feeling of pride, accomplishment, and happiness by doing what we set out to do.
The third reason we feel so nervous is that we are comparing ourselves with others. We have convinced ourselves that we are better than others and this has made it very difficult for us to achieve anything. If we allow this to continue, it will crush us emotionally and mentally. We don’t want to live our life compared to others, especially after accomplishing a major goal.
The fourth reason why we feel so anxious after a big goal achievement is that we feel overwhelmed. Our mind is telling us that we have so many things to do at this time, that it’s hard to get through them all. So, instead of being able to focus on the most important thing, we end up wasting a lot of time on unimportant tasks. Again, we don’t want to be overwhelmed by life, but instead, we should be able to focus on the most important things.
Finally, the fifth reason why we feel so anxious is that we think we have reached the limit. When we reach a goal, it may seem like there is no more room to further achieve it. And this is when the feeling of dread sets in. Instead of feeling discouraged, we should instead celebrate each new success and feel good about it. It gives us the courage to continue on our journey to become the person that we want to be.
These are the five reasons why we feel so anxious after a big achievement. They can all be dealt with, but the first and most important thing is that we have to be positive in every aspect of our life. If we don’t, we will never reach our goals and we will always feel like there’s something else on our mind. So, the next time you feel like you have reached an important goal in your life, instead of getting too excited, celebrate.
See yourself as successful today! Don’t see what else can go wrong. And keep it in mind: the things that can bring us happiness are rarely those that bring us pain. If it does, then we just didn’t handle the situation well, or we have too much on our plate to handle right now. So, instead of being upset and depressed over a failure, celebrate for what you have achieved and move on.
