Are you ready to be scared out of your wits once again? Hold tight because the iconic horror movie franchise, Scream, is returning for a sixth instalment! With its unique blend of terror and humour, Scream has delighted (and terrifying) audiences since 1996. And now that we know there’s a new chapter in the works, fans are eager to learn what surprises lie ahead. So grab some popcorn and settle in as we explore everything we know about Scream 6.
What is Scream 6?
After six years, the mystery of what happened to the Scream series continues. The last instalment, Scream 4, was released in 2011, and since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for news on a possible sequel or spin-off. But so far, nothing has come out concretely about Scream 6.
That said, some things are happening behind the scenes. In October 2015, it was announced that Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox were reprising their roles as Gale Weathers and Jill McGiver, respectively, in an upcoming TV series reboot of the franchise. Additionally, in March 2017, it was reported that writer Kevin Williamson (The Following) would write and direct a new film instalment in the series.
So while we don’t know much about Scream 6 yet, we can at least speculate about what might happen. Here are five possibilities:
1) The movie takes place after the events of Scream 4, and Gale Weathers is now a fugitive on the run from Jill McGiver and Co. To catch up with her former friend and teammate, McGiver enlists the help of Ghostface killer Billy Loomis (a returning David Arquette). Together they track down Gale through her old haunts until they finally catch up with her. Only for her to reveal that she’s been working with Loomis all along! In a tense showdown between friends turned enemies, Weathers triumphs over Loomis once again – but at what cost
Release Date and Screens
In a recent interview with MTV, Michael Bay revealed that Scream would be released on October 20th. He also confirmed that the film would have four new scenes and a “chaos” ending. The new scenes are said to involve the characters of Neve Campbell and David Arquette’s daughter Quinn.
Plot
The movie Scream is about a group of teenagers who a killer terrorizes. The killer is known as Ghostface, and he kills people by cutting their throats with a knife. Ghostface is never seen face-to-face, but his victims see his face in their nightmares.
The teenagers in the movie are trying to figure out who Ghostface is and how to stop him. They also try to figure out why he’s doing this. Some teenagers think he might be mentally ill, while others think he might be angry at the world because of something that happened to him.
The movie ends with the teens finally catching up with Ghostface and defeating him. They do this by tricking him into coming out into the open, where they can catch him.
