On the night of his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, Rey Mysterio Jr.’s career came full circle. 18 years after his fight against Eddie Guerrero at the same venue, Mysterio found himself hours away from facing his son Dominik Mysterio. Prior to his HOF speech and WrestleMania 39, Mysterio unveiled the new “Latino World Order”. Legado Del Fantasma leader Santos Escobar showed his support backstage against The Judgement Day on Saturday, and Mysterio reciprocated by gifting each member of the group a t-shirt with the LWO logo. It is worth noting that Mysterio had refused to join the same group back in 1998 when Guerrero defeated him.
During his HOF speech, Mysterio expressed his gratitude towards his wife for the sacrifices she had made and remembered Guerrero, who could potentially be Dominik’s biological father. Mysterio recounted the beginning of his career at the age of 14, demonstrating his passion and dedication to the sport.
The tension between Mysterio and his son came to a head when Dominik took things too far by calling out Mysterio’s mother and sister. Following the verbal attack, Rey Mysterio finally accepted his son’s challenge to fight on March 4. Dominik had previously turned on his father by joining The Judgement Day and assaulting him. It is alleged that Guerrero is the biological father of Dominik, which sparked a feud between Guerrero and Mysterio over custody rights. Dominik intends to put an end to the quarrel by defeating his father at WrestleMania 39.
