Bianca Belair successfully defended her WWE Raw Women’s Championship title against Asuka in a thrilling match on night two of WrestleMania 39 at SoFi stadium in Los Angeles. Belair emerged victorious, marking her third win at The Show of Shows. Asuka made a grand entrance in her mystique costume, accompanied by masked performers. While Bianca’s entrance theme featured girl performers dancing to the music, waving their braids.
In the beginning, Belair attempted to pin Asuka, but the Japanese wrestler escaped. Asuka then locked Belair and tried to pin her, but Belair managed to survive. Outside the ring, Belair knocked Asuka down with a power-bomb and dragged her back into the ring. Despite several attempts to win via pinfall, She kicked out and continued to fight.
Asuka attempted to gain the upper hand by performing an ankle lock on Belair, but the Raw women’s champion displayed her exceptional strength and survived. She persisted, frustrating Belair, who had several moments of domination in the match. She smiled menacingly through her troubles and even had a chance of winning with a sensational lock on her opponent. However, Belair overpowered her and performed the KOD to retain the title.
In the main event of WrestleMania 39, Roman Reigns retained his Undisputed WWE Universal Champion title by defeating Cody Rhodes. However, the win was controversial due to interference from The Bloodline members Solo Sikoa and The Usos, who played crucial roles in helping Reigns win.
In other notable matches, Brock Lesnar defeated The Nigerian Giant Omos in a one-on-one fight, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler defeated Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan, Natalya and Shotzi, and Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville via submission in the Women’s WrestleMania Showcase fatal four-way tag-team match. Gunther retained his Intercontinental Championship title by defeating Drew McIntyre and Sheamus in a triple threat match. Finally, in the classic Hell in a Cell match, Edge defeated Finn Balor.
