Our Offbeat Travel List: 13 Destinations You’re Probably Not Even Thinking Of! by Gaylord Bell is a unique travel guide full of information on over thirteen destinations. It’s informative and interesting and the book even has audio conversations with knowledgeable local individuals that take you on trips around the world. The one thing that makes this list different than others is that it focuses on destinations outside the United States and Europe and lists things like Asia, South America, and Australia as well. It can be used as an American travel guide or a worldwide travel destination exporter. Some of the destinations listed are very beautiful places, but some are not so nice.
Costa Rica: This Central American country is one of my favorite places to visit. There are three international airports in Costa Rica: San Jose International Airport, Santa Maria International Airport, and Escazu Airport. From these three airports, you can get too many places in Costa Rica including San Jose (where the airports are), Santa Maria, and Escazu. The scenery is spectacular here and the people are very friendly.
Santa Ana: This beautiful town is located in the mountains of the Santa Ana National Park. Santa Ana sits on the western slope of the Santa Ana Mountains and is easily accessible from the airport or your hotel if you have transport. In the past, this town was the largest gold mining city in the world. However, nowadays, most of its economic activity is focused on tourism. There are many things to do in and around Santa Ana. Some of the activities include hiking, biking, mountain climbing, horseback riding, and swimming.
Puerto Escondido: This town was a favorite place for the Spanish explorer Christopher Columbus. It is on the west coast of the peninsula. It offers plenty of hiking trails, golfing, boating, and fishing. The most popular places to visit are the Casa de Campo (fortified house) and San Carlos Ruins.
Corozal: This is a small mountain town that is located in the Sierra Madre mountains. The town became very famous because of its mineral deposits. It is a good place to visit because of the beautiful views of the Sierra Madre Mountains. There are two main attractions here, which are the Corozal volcano and the Corozal lake. The former is a very active volcano and has been erupting since 16 Ago.
Popayan: This is an old Spanish mining town that is famous for its mineral deposits and for its colonial architecture. You will also find here many other historical places and museums. You can find here many minerals and iron deposits such as silver, lead, zinc, tin, magnesium, and mercury. One of the most important districts in the Corozal district, which is responsible for producing the bulk of aluminum. Many aluminum companies are based here.
Quenqo: This city is on the eastern coast of Mexico. It used to be the capital of the Aztec Empire. It was known as “The Great City” because of the many wonders it had in the past. Today, the city is known for its copper statues. Quenqo has some spectacular views, and there is plenty to do.
Xochicalco: This is a small city in the central region of Puebla. It used to have been a major city and an important economic center. Nowadays, many tourists come to this small town to take a look at the beautiful old churches. There are many interesting places to eat and to stay in Xochicalco.
Santa Fe: This is a charming city in New Mexico. It is known for its beautiful scenery. Many tourists come to Santa Fe just for the scenery. They love the rustic feeling that is associated with this city. Some of the areas of interest include:
Albuquerque: This is a large city in New Mexico. It is known as being the cultural, educational, and political center of the state. It is also home to many legendary personalities. You will find many historical sites, museums, and theaters. The shopping centers of Albuquerque are very popular.
