Pick Delicious Berries
Spring is the season of renewal and revival: crisp air, blooming flowers, and fresh fruits and vegetables beginning to grow in my garden.
This spring, I’m going to focus more than ever on cultivating berries. It’s one of the only items on my yearly bucket list that actually requires a bucket! I’m incredibly passionate about my garden and love using my homegrown treats in my meals; one of my favorite snacks is a berry smoothie with almond milk.
There’s nothing wrong with store-bought fruit, of course, but there’s something liberating about getting in the dirt and picking your own food by hand!
Attend an Art Festival
Another thing I can’t wait to do is attend the local spring art festival. It’s a simple way to seek inspiration, and in the past, I’ve even purchased some of the pieces I adored! The winter art festival is also a pleasure, but I prefer its spring counterpart; in the winter, most of the artists prepare elaborate ice sculptures, which are beautiful, but they don’t last very long.
The spring art festival is also a perfect excuse to showcase my own work, and to make some money with a personal stand. It’s a fantastic way to meet people, sell art, and collaborate with a host of dedicated fellow creatives!
A Thorough Spring Cleaning
Spring is the perfect time to kick all of the dust mites out of the house. It’ll be a lot of work, but the effort will be worth it; last year, I cleaned so much and thoroughly that the entire house smelled like roses until June!
Rome, of course, wasn’t built in a day, and spring cleaning is no exception. So, I am going to clean slowly but deliberately and dedicate special attention to the kitchen and bathrooms, which tend to become the dirtiest over time.
Have my Own Garage Sale
Generally speaking, after I finish cleaning, I’m left with a pile of items that I no longer use or need. I expect that this year will be no exception.
I don’t want to throw everything in the trash—that would be wasteful—so I am going to host a garage sale to make some extra cash. I likely won’t be able to get rid of everything, but that isn’t a problem; I’ll bring the remaining items to my local Salvation Army and donate! There’s nothing quite as rewarding as doing good for your community.
Blossom with the Flowers
Flowers won’t be the only things to blossom this spring! For the last two years, I’ve been contemplating cosmetic surgery, and after a slew of consultations and scheduling difficulties, I’m finally getting a facelift. By the time summer rolls around, I’ll have a fresh face on display for everyone to see! Then, it’ll be time to hit the beach with newfound confidence.
Enjoy a Picnic While Wine Tasting
If there’s one thing I miss most during the colder months, it’s enjoying a picnic with my friends and loved ones. There’s something perfectly rejuvenating about sitting on a checkered towel beneath a canopy of blooming trees, surrounded by warm wind and refreshing air.
This year, I’ve decided to spice up our first picnic of the season with a wine tasting. Some days, I wish that I had a cool glass of wine in hand, and others, I wish that I’d spent more time outside, so why not mash these two ideas together? I’m going to buy a few different Bordeaux bottles; hopefully, everyone enjoys it!
Spring is such a joyous time, and I intend to make it one of the most memorable yet!
