To epoxy or not to epoxy, that is the question. We don’t think this was written into Shakespeare’s famous play, but does that mean he didn’t think about it?
To be fair Shakespeare likely didn’t care about DIY resin projects, but you do. There are tons of epoxy resin crafts out there for you to try.
While it might take a while and a significant amount of patience to pull them off the result is going to be utterly amazing.
It’s common for people to think resin art is complicated but it’s quite easy. All you’ve got to do is choose the small epoxy projects you want to take on and go for it. Get ready to discover your next resin art project below.
1. Resin Coasters
When you have a nice table the last thing you want is for people to place a cup on it destroying the service. This brings us to the first resin project idea out there which is to create resin coasters.
To create a wood resin coaster you will need wood slices you can place in the resin once it’s poured. Keep in mind that when you’re working with wood because it’s a porous material there are going to be some air bubbles that appear.
When you notice the air bubbles appearing carefully pop them so they aren’t in the finished product. You don’t have to use wood slices if you don’t want to.
There are other things like flowers that can be placed within the resin. Ensure you place them where you want them to be before you pour the resin and allow it to set.
2. Rustic Resin Table
Rustic resin tables are becoming increasingly popular. Keep in mind that you’re going to need gallons of epoxy resin to pull off this project, but the result is going to be breathtaking.
When you’re doing this project don’t forget to set the table base on a flat surface. If the resin dries unevenly, you’re going to have to repour the resin to ensure you get the desired results.
You don’t have to leave the resin clear if you don’t want to. You can add color during the mixing process to bring the project to life.
3. Trinket Boxes
What could be a better gift than to give someone a homemade trinket box featuring various beautifully placed flowers solidified in resin? Before you pour the resin take the time to prep the mold you plan to use.
As you prep, the mold coat it with a conditioner that will make it easier to separate the resin from the mold once it’s dried. Before pouring the resin warm the mold.
By doing this there will be fewer bubbles that appear towards the bottom or the sides. While bubbles aren’t horrible, they can ruin the finished product aesthetically.
